Becker HAD a vertical marked face plate that you could switch over to as an option as I recall? I only saw it a few times and don't remember the details of what happened with the markings on the buttons but I think there were a couple of Beckers that the buttons were not marked on?

Ebay would tend to indicate that Beckers in general have become somewhat of a collectors novelty item of noticeable value? $500 ish.
In 1980 our '72 came with a vertically oriented Sanyo (replaceable dial for both orientations). Unfortunately, even with good speakers, it's sound quality sucked. I checked into having it rebuilt to modern spec's but no one was interested. Modern stereos like my mid-level Kenmore with 10-disc CD player are much better at actually making music, even if the dial is not vertical.
I have a Becker Europa II,in my '72 (4129), with the vertical marked faceplate. It also came with a Becker Cassette player, that was mounted just ahead of the E-brake handle,on the console. The push buttons were marked with (2) BC or AM, and (3) FM station buttons. It still plays as new. And you are right about the e-bay pricing.
Here's what came out of my car:

I assume this is an "original equipment" radio (especially give the vertical markings), but not 100% sure.

It even has a remote amp. Very common on current cars, but must have been a bit innovate back in the 70's.

I dug this out of a pile of my old electronics ... jut sitting under my 8" floppy drives ;-)

Sorry for the confusing or "tormenting" post ;-)

The purpose of my post was, just like the two before mine, to simply let the forum viewers know what came in my Pantera. I thought this may be of interest since 1. this was the original radio from my Pantera (with the vertical dial indicator), and 2. I found it unusual that a radio from the 70's had a remote amp along with a DIN connector to add external inputs (which could even be used to connect an iphone or other modern source).

Not sure where my post implied I might be giving it away. But yes, I might be "giving it away" if someone wants to "give away" something of equal value :-)

I have no current plans to sell, and don't even know what this would be worth. But you've at least motivated me to power it up and confirm it works.

Again, sorry for not being clear on the reason for posting.

Dave
