The factory terminals are brass with tin plating, the tin plating is to protect the brass from oxidation. Vinegar is acetic acid, unless you can remove it by rinsing thoroughly with water it will remove the tin and expose the brass, a worse condition.
Since the condition is oxidation not corrosion, removal of the oxide is not necessary as long as there is tension between the "tab" and the mating terminal. All connector terminals are designed to displace the oxide during insertion.

Electrical current that exceeds 0.020 Amps will penetrate the thin tin oxide and not allow further oxide formation at the mating surfaces.
