Original engine from 72 Pantera #2556. Engine ran fine, (except when cold), when I removed it from the car in August 2009. I would guess it has thirty to forty thousand miles on it? The speedo had been disconnected. It has never been bored as far as I know. The heads have apparently been off, which may indicate that the originals could have been replaced with closed chamber? I put approximately five thousand miles on the engine before removing it, to be replaced with my 408 stroker. I won't ship it. It can be picked up in Long Beach, California. I would consider delivering it if you don't live too far away. $1000.00 or best offer.
Thanks,
Art

Plutocrat,
People have been giving me all the reasons to keep the engine or to tear it down and sell based on whether; it is a four bolt main, it has closed chamber heads, it has ever been bored. If I had plenty of room in my garage I would keep it but the way it is, I may never need the engine and it is taking up too much of my valuable space. I do appreciate your observation.

Thanks,
Art
My thought on the engine is that it could be a good deal for someone that doesn't want to spend the money to rebuild an engine but just needs something that runs. When it comes time to rebuild this engine, it might turn out to be a diamond in the rough with a standard bore, closed chamber heads and four bolt mains.

Is this motor totally complete ?
what are the number on the block & heads ?
thx Mike #7042
