Upgrade your Pantera seats for more comfort and stability. I refurbish and reupholster 1984-1988 Corvette C-4 seats for Pantera owners that are tired of those old, flat, uncomfortable stock Panters seats.
I completly dissasemble, clean and paint the frames. Then I upholster the seats in black vinyl that looks like the original Pantera material. Options include, leather, cloth inserts and embroidery.
All of my seats come with all the nuts and bolts to install them in about two hours using your stock seat tracks and my step by step instruction sheet.
Photos are available by e-mail or letter.

Vinyl seats $700.
Leather seats $1,050.
Cloth inserts $25.
Embroidery $25.-$40.
Shipping $55.-$80.

I can also make kits for those who want to install them yourself or take them to your local upholstery shop.

i just got a set of gary's seats, and am very happy with them. workmanship is absolutely top notch, the vinyl looks better than leather, my seats have the cloth inserts--black vinyl and a gray "thatched" cloth, look really really nice.

in my car, installation was a f@#$'ing bitch. but, my seat rails are not oem, and they were each different, had overlapping holes etc., etc.. installation easily took over 10 hours, lots of little stuff was wrong (but not with gary's seats). but from what i see, my installation was far from typical. i also had to modify the seatbelt floor attachment point to clear the seat, arg!!!

headroom is a bit less than with the factory seats....hmmmm, maybe next winter drop the floor pan half an inch??

but, was it worth it. damn right it was, took a drive, never even changed seating position. took a little time (~5 minutes) to get used to the "narrowness" of the seats, but in exchange there is nice lateral support.

go ahead, spend some money, buy gary's seats, you won't be sorry.

The body shop where my car is currently, has a gentleman who is, shall we say, "portly". Okay, he weighs more than my son's junior high class, but he's a skilled artisan at bodywork (Not his own apparently.)

ANYWAY, he split my 1974 seat, right at the entry bolster. I can get it redone, and reuse it OR I can get it readone and save it for the next caretaker who hates his spine.

This means I get to get a new set of seats. So, I contact Gary today. We talk. (Mostly me.)

I think outloud: "If Ford had said, 'HEY ALEJANDRO, we just figured out how you could spend another <1970's Dollars> per car and still hit the sales target' what would Mr. DeTomaso had done with that interior?"

Me and Gary worked out a design. More like a "continuance" really.

I think it's going to be nice.
Got my seats back some while ago, only got around to installing this week. My thoughts were to replicate the original seat pattern, but in a more comfortable, useable, supportive, and more appropriate material.

Gary found a 2" leather pleat that was a dead ringer for the Pantera originals. He did that for the center section. He used a 'longer grained' side piece (like the original, but not as overdone). I'd always like the photos of the factory prototype seats in the first press releases.

We decided to do the 'top stitching' in a gray thread to match the charcoal factory carpet. It absolutely does too.

To me, these seats fit all intentions. I saved my old seats (as I have every single thing ever to come off this car that MIGHT find its way back to it). They're wrapped and stored.

For now, me and my bootie really appreciate the following transformation...
