driving along and the car went dead no electicity battery 13.8 volts all posts connected any suggestions?

Start checking fuses and the ignition switch.
Likely the ignition switch. The way the car is wired everything runs through it.
Mine turned out to be blown amp gauge. Car is original and had like yours a charged battery prior to going out for the ride. Ended up changing to the Hall Voltmeter, no issues since. As I will be upgrading the alternator, I think it was a good choice - time will tell. Rodents would be the next cord chewing offenders.....

What you are looking at are stubs of the factory installed security bolts. The bolt heads are designed to snap off when proper torque is reached. Easiest removal process seems to be using a cut off wheel on a Dremel handpiece to cut a slot in the remaining stubs. At that point a flat blade screwdriver usually does the trick quite easily.
