the chromium plating on my door lock and pull handle is poor, being pitted in places.

How do I remove
1, the main pin through the plastic moulding which the spring and hinge pin swivel, I don't want to break anything!

2, to remove the door lock mechanism I see a very small mills pin, I tried to indicate its location with a small screwdriver, but not a good pic sadly. I assume that the mills pin (roll pin?) has to be removed????

To remove the larger pin, it must be cut off with a Dremel-style tool and a thin cut-off wheel. Cut it by the spring to keep the pin holes intact. I believe some owner figured out how to remove them, but ?????

Mark Johnson at IPSCO sells a very correct aluminum billet outer door handle replacement. It comes with a new pin and spring which appear to be compatible with the OEM handle, for someone rebuilding their stock units. I'd contact Mark and ask if they are available alacarte.

The very small roll pin in the lock unit does need to be removed to allow the cylinder to be removed. Not too difficult.

NOTE: the lock cylinders are LH and RH. Make sure you keep all parts with their correct co-parts. The gray pot metal piece held on by that little roll pin appears the same on both sides. And it is, except for the location of the roll pin hole. Wink

CYA and take clear pictures of both locks.

Thats just what I wanted to know thanks very much Larry.
The man who turned my new door hinges will have no problem making up a couple of pins for me

The pic shows all I need to make 2 new ones.
