My car is getting repainted and I am having the black repainted on the lower portion of my stock '72. I am not sure exactly where the red is to end and the black begin. I want my shop to do it right, in the original position. Does anyone have a photo that shows where the black trim is supposed to be? Thanks.

Thanks to both of you. Since I started this thread the paint has been finished but thanks for replying.

Marlin Jack - I like the look you have there but it is not in keeping with what I had originally, in that mine has been repainted by a previous owner I suppose I don't know for absolute sure where the break between red and black is supposed to be but it is pretty close to what DW has.

DW thanks for the pics, I didn't realize there was a black strip at the rear. My sides are now repainted the same as what you have. The front was painted with the break at the bottom of the chrome grill trim, maybe just below where yours is, but very close. I'll have to look and see if pics of other cars have black along the rear.
I think I'm one of about two or three people who actually care about what was original on the Ford program Panteras. I saved these photos of what I believed was an original factory paint survivor... and I'm not easily convinced. There is a lot of bad information on originality passed around in the Pantera world. On the other hand most owners just don't care much. Hope they help you.

Barry, those pics are perfect, too late for me now, but exactly what I needed two weeks ago. It isn't your fault though, I should have asked this question a month ago. Hopefully someone will benefit from everyone's input here. I think it is important to keep records of what original was. Eventually more people may care. FWIW my car is stock more or less. I have only replaced what was totally shot (tires, shift nob, gate, steering wheel) or changed by the p.o. - my door handles were "shaved" don't ask why, I don't know. Thanks.
