To sort my minor electrical problem I shorted out the interior lamp cables, (Switch is awaiting repair) and still the door lights wouldn't work, the red ones.

Removed the LHand door switch to find I hadn't refitted the twin Violet cable back on it,
removed the switch on the right "A" post and dropped it, straight down the hole where the Wiring loom goes into.

One of my brass fuse holder screws is also in there.

Tried to retrieve it with a magnet to no avail. maybe tomorrow will be a better day, bugger!!!

I just used a pick with a hook on the end and got both of mine with a bit of work. George's idea i'm sure is better. Along this line make sure you clean the contact point on both switches. You'll be pulling your hair out why it won't work. I just sanded both of mine with sandpaper. Also I bought the LED lights for these since the incandescent bulbs will melt the red lens. ...I have had this Same tool for Years.
It has 'Saved My Life' Many Times, when I Might have 'Thrown a Brick Through the Windshield', in Frustration!!!
Second best tool is the Little Magnet on the Tip of a Telescoping Rod. Much like an Antennae.
But as pointed out, Brass is Non-Magnetic!

Well the good news is that I managed to extract the brass fuse screw using the tool George Posted.
But the switch had not fallen into the inner sill but fell along the wiring loom and into the outer sill. So out with the hole saw which did the business.
I have also treated myself to a new Gear lever knob made by a small one man machine shop locally, I found 4 small DeTomaso badges in the car when I bought it, I never found where they went so one is now in the top of my new gear lever knob, hope you approve but expensive at £40 but it is Bespoke so thats OK!
