I got my engina in last night, this is my first on a Pantera. This was not that hard to do after I modified my cherry picker. Next time I could shave off 80% of the time.

Looks nice, I am going to do my engine as well. Who polished your intake and transaxle?
Mike
Not sure how you changed your cherry picker but the center of mass for the engine/transaxle is where the bell housing mates to the block. Most people use a balance bar. I just use ratchet straps going to the front of the engine and the rear of the ZF. Doing this I can remove the engine/transaxle by myself in 3-4 hours.
I had to extend the boom only and I polished my tranny and intake myself, pain in the butt.
Donny- how tid you get that polish job looking sooo good ?
Its spectacular.
You just need to start sanding and give it a smooth finishing with 800-1000 grit or more. Harbor freight has real cheep polishing wheels with rouge and on line you can get drill attachable polishing doo-dads to get in those tight areas. Some areas you just can't get perfect. Disassembly of the tranny is not required but makes it much easier. It might be a good time to go through it while it's out,I did. It is not hard to do it just takes time. In some sick way enjoyed it. If you have a ton of money just take it to a pro. I try to do as much as I can myself because poor boys have poor ways.
Congrats the "Engine Bay" looks great, and as already said by the rest....also the polish! Donny....you must post more pictures! I am also in a similar stage of the process.....
Very nice!
