Euro Pushbutton Pantera interior switch. What is it?

If I was a betting man, I'd bet that is not the original configuration. It looks to me as though that dash was recovered in leather and some changes might have been made. I've never seen two red lights between the pods before, and the only other Euro Pushbutton interior I've seen photos of had only the rotary switch without the toggle.

Without seeing the console switches to see what might be missing, I could only guess. Perhaps a rear fog light? Or, perhaps the interior light if the fog light switch is where the courtesy light switch usually resides.

Who's car is it? The definitive way to know is see what happens when the switch is activated.

I have no clue what it's for and when I did throw the switch, nothing happened. The only clue of it being original is that it is also on another EuroPB I saw pic of with the door open. I am running through the interior switches for the owner to verify operations. I'm thinking it may be a fog light switch but it's hard to tell what's original and what's not without a reference.
Here's the other EuroPB with the same switch.

If the car did have a fog light there should be a mounting hole on the underside of one of the rear bumpers — the left one, I think.

Nothing. But then the bumpers were refinished and rechromed so we'll never know.

I have the same extra switch on my euro PB, although it's located a little differently. It's not hooked up either.

I read somewhere that the early, early cars had two switches for the headlights, one for raising the buckets and one for turning on the lights. Maybe they have something to do with that?

Anything is possible at this point. Did the EuroPB cars come with an owners manual? I'll have to check if this has one.

I believe for example Alfa Montreal uses that same switch to turn on/off dash lights. Just guessing...

Good guess. That is indeed what that icon represents on Alfa's.

That's a good clue, thanks. Something to check when I see the car again this week.
I just hope there are wires behind the switch that I can trace.

In mine (the one LIV1S refers to in the third post) the switch is a signless one, and I can't even remember it was hooked up when I got the car (that same picture was taken on the way home the day I bought the car). I later used it as a switch for indeed a fog light, a light I installed myself - no holes anywhere to be found, that possibly could be meant for that purpose...

Gonna remove that fog light again btw

On my 79 Euro the fog light switch looks like this a yellow toggle and the foglight is mounted thru a hole in the body below the bumper ... other could be different but to the best of my knowledge this is factory.

I reached into the back of the dash to check if here are wires hooked up to he switch and found none. I will have to get if off the lift this Saturday to get some room to crawl under to check for wires.
