They can usually be bought for half that price. They were made in larger numbers than the auction suggests. Novel and collectable parts from the over the counter program.
The big deal with these is that they work as a girdle because the longer studs come through the covers.
It is more of a novel idea then anything else.
I don't think they are as rare as suggested.
The aluminum is not of polishing quality at all so they can at best be just painted.
Value is in the eye of the beholder. That much isn't in my eye.

Looks like that's whats on my car in the link below. Someone told me it helps stabalize at high RPM.
