Just bought this “Ferrero” steering wheel and hub from a guy in Italy

is it a fake/replica?.

12 1/2 inches in diameter, aluminum spokes and hub, pcd is 63mm, plastic wrapped,no stitching.

with a pcd of 63mm I find no hubs that work, all are 70 or 75mm

at this time I have the stock capri wheel on a 71 pb

therefore I plan to use the lower section of the stock column as I know it fits the splines and make a round plate to be welded to the top of the column.

this plate will be drilled and tapped for 63mm pcd bolt circle, to accept the wheel. Therefore no need of the Ferrero hub

Sure seems like a small wheel, but I (& many others) love the style.

Are you sure that one’s not for a tiny Fiat 500?

Are you gonna be able to turn those massive 13 inch wide front tires on your Group 4 car with that?

I guess that will start you on the slippery slope of electric power steering!

PS.  I think your steering is “wheel” and not fake!

(Joke / pun…. Reread your title!)

I haven't receive it yet, so I have no idea.  It looks right, and for the price I figured it was worth the gamble.  I can have an adapter machined or modified if necessary.  I actually ordered it from an eBay seller who is including the hub/adapter (but for a 1972 Lancia Fulvia).  I'll let you know what I actually receive when it comes.

Note that the eBay seller does not ship outside of Italy - It was quite a hassle to arrange shipping to my company's Italy office to then have the package forwarded to me.

I discovered the link I posted above only after I had already ordered the same part from the eBay seller.

I decided to put on hold the adapter plan I outlined earlier cuz I found a 6 bolt adapter (boss) advertised for an early Capri. So I’m hoping the splines match up to what I’ve been led to believe is a factory early Capri shaft on my pb.  We shall see…

If the splines match then I’ll need to drill/ tap new mounting holes for my 63 mm pcd

note: after many hours on the net I found only one source for an adapter for early Capri steering shaft called Autotechnica out of Australia
