The factory LeMans cars used two smaller fuel cells, one on each side of the engine. Current Pantera race cars often use a front-trunk-mounted fuel cell (with the trunk floor cut away and much tube bracing). Neither is easy but both balence the car better than stock; the dual cell requires either a transfer pump or some dual-feed arrangement to a single pump. Pick yer poison...
