Some months ago I was looking for a replacement for the plastic float for the fuel tank gauge. Found Ford part COAZ 9202 B. Small copper/brass barrel that is easily soldered to the end of the float wire.

We've used many different ones over the years. Jaguar XKE fit perfectly, made out of plastic. Mopar Plymouth Dodge of the Muscle Car Era all fit, '68-'70 as well, copper brass. Never solder it in place. It won't fall off, it snaps in. As of late we're changing the copper brass ones out, they're developing leaks since the body is made so chincy. These don't even last two years. We take 'em out their full of gasoline. Thank goodness Panteras are simple to remove/replace. Do one on a vintage FERRARI if you want to see a REAL headache.
