If possible I would like to get fuel tank dimensions along with a sketch. I want to try and get a standard fuel cell that will fit in the fuel tank space. I know that the volume will be less.
I have mine out and could measure it for you, but I won't be able to get to it till probably Monday at best. If no one else has answered by then, I'll do it for you.
I don't want to hijack this thread, so please let me know if this is a problem and I can move this to another thread.
I've been looking at fuel cells as well, but I'm having trouble finding something off the shelf that works for me, so I am considering having a tank made and was wondering if anyone has used www.fueltankparts.com? They look to be very reasonably priced.
I need a fuel cell that has a bladder and foam in order to comply with tech requirements at various open road races. I did not see those items listed with the company you listed.
I built my own tank on the right side of the car. It also had to be made to go around the custom exhaust I made. I started by welding up a frame using welding rod.
I'll only need the length. I will try to get the largest rectangular tank that will fit within your dimensions. I'm not trying to go for the max configuration.
Another option is what I've seen in a few race Panteras: TWO separate rectangular cells, one on each side of the engine. The height was about 12" tall. Each held about 10 gallons and the wt & balance of the car was improved. The cells were connected by a 2" fuel-proof hose that ran in front of the engine so the car could be fueled from either side. You don't say but such a rig on a street car could be fitted with two senders and one gauge with a selector switch.
