In the course of installing a stainless firewall, i removed the gas tank and found that it's wrapped in fiberglass. As far as i know, this is the first time the tank has been removed. Was this a common practice from the factory? Should i remove the glass, or leave it on? I assume the tank it self is aluminum, and seems to be in good condition.
Many thanks.

Paul, the fiberglass covering was one of the first "repairs" undertaken after Pantera's arrived in the U.S. It should not be a problem for you. When you get a chance, take a look at the literature available from the Pantera vendors for information on all aspects of our cars. Also, you will find the Pantera List server at: http://realbig.com/detomaso/ This resource has a never-ending supply of information, experience, sad stories, happy stories, and how-to comments! Take a look at Mike Dailey's web site: www.panterplace.com for more resources as well as an article on how to subscribe to...and use the list server. Good Luck! Terry Marsh ('71-2207)
