I own a 72 pre L Pantera with extremely low miles that has been sitting for maybe 30 years or more.I have been slowly going through things and noticed the fuel tank (although it is clean on the out side)is leaking out of the back facing the wheel.Obviously it is rusting from the inside out.I plan to pull the engine and transaxle to remove the tank. Are there any new replacement tanks available?

I'm not sure why anyone would do a front trunk conversion, even the factory Group 4 cars had twin tanks behind the firewall.

4 hrs. the engines out, 1/2 hour the tank is out, it is the first thing many do when restoring our cars. Use the opportunity to rebuild your engine, add a fuel filter, paint your motor and transe, smooth and paint the engine compartment etc.

Given the "extremely low miles", the value is probably in keeping it as stock as possible.
