AUSTRIA
PANTERA SI, CHASSIS NUMBER 9613
Moderator's Note: This was a terrific bargain and is consistent with pricing in Europe. DeTomaso cars are really inexpensive due to strong dollar, high energy costs and other exotic competitors. A Guara for example is less than $50,000.00. I would like to see a Pantera 200 sold to a U.S. customer (me!). If you are the buyer of Franz' 5-S, please tell us if you are able to import and register the car without too much problem from the EPA and DOT. We understand it can by very trying for cars of this vintage. Keep reporting your sales so that we can keep the community informed. DAve!

Based on the problems this car has given the new owner it really isn't a bargain. The car is still located overseas, and currently broken and sitting in a garage.

In order to bring this car to the states, he'd have to conform it to US laws which is prohibitively expensive.

After is all said and done, his final cost will probably be in line to what the current U.S. market is for GT5S'.
