Hall Super Pantera Coilover Springs

Is anyone interested in these? I have no use for them as I went to another coilover setup.

could one measure, (with mic or verneir) the wire diameter and count the total number of complete coils

I should have clarified, this is just for the spring set, not the whole coilover shock. If you are still interested investor let me know. A few people pm'd me and thought it was for the whole coilover.

I was under that impression (not that it makes any difference), and I couldn't believe what a smokin' deal that was!

I think so too, but I already have supposedly a Grp4 set of spring to go with the original L's

Spring rates were 400# front and 680# rear, but I never understood why Hall used a 4.5" dia. spring that required large perches on what was a modern Aldan adjustable shock, notwithstanding the Aldan shocks are renowned for leaking.

I too thought they were complete!

I ended up with QA1's, someone with the Aldan's may want a firmer ride. If nobody responds with interest I'll see if anyone in our local chapter wants them or is going toward the Aldans. Thanks.

Zonkey has a set of the Hall Super Pantera shocks and springs purchased around 2001. I just measured them. The rears have a wire dia of 0.677", an overall dia of 4.57" and appear to have 8 coils and are powder coated black. The orange fronts are 0.602", 4.60" (so, probably the same) and 9 coils. I could be wrong but I believe I was told (maybe by Bob Byers) that the rears are 750 lb/in. I also heard, and I can't remember where, that the reason they are so big was purely for aesthetics; Gary wanted them to look cool! Gary told me that the reason they are different colors is so there would be no confusion as to which went where!

For a "stiff" spring, that has a lot of coils, but I agree with Gary H, that does make a better looking spring

and for what it is worth, a normal spring calc does come up a little less that advertised
