Well that thread is locked up, for better or for worse...not my call. So be it. Probably to keep me the heck out of there, less I create MORE havoc?

My thought on modifying these cars is, "bad taste costs no more?" How do "we" keep from getting into that category of creating "abortions"? Simple, leave them alone.

The comment about the Pantera of being "the most modified production car" seems to legitimize modifications. Why?

Personally I just think that people got these cars too cheap and that just gives them the license in their minds to turn them into some kind of an advanced shop class to demonstrate what "you" can do with a Smith Granite 3 in 1 or with one of those Tijuana upholstery shops that found a source of all of those once thought extinct Naugaha's that we slaughtered for their hides? Is that Leopard skin upholstery real or is it just "funny fir"?

Is that just to impress that old shop class teacher who ignored you or thought you were a jerk? You're gonna' show him now who was a jerk and who wasn't? Why?

My opinion is that if you want a Corvette, buy a Corvette, don't try to turn a Pantera into one.

If you want a GT40 buy one. There are plenty of reproductions available of them.

Just my thought. I'll be quite, go sit in the corner and talk to myself now. Don't worry.

I talk to myself simply because I'm the only one who listens.

The Police haven't been called to break up the nasty yelling match arguments I have with just myself. Not just yet anyway. Go figure, right? Eeker
I'm right? I'm in shock. About what part? Talking to myself and no one else caring? Probably.

You know? Some people are just going to say, it's my car, I'll do what I want with it. Fine. But what you do to yours (negatively) devalues mine too.

I would point out that those (that got it too cheap) are probably the ones that if someone gave them a new Ferrari, would be using it to haul their horse manure to the dump because the car didn't cost them anything?

Incidentally...Nice horse. Smiler

Of course it's all about free will...yada, yada, yada but guess what, the other people think "you" are just being a jerk?

I would say, "you know who you are", but frankly, they don't.

...an echo. Ah dam. I'm in the corner talking to myself again, and I promised to stop too. Frowner

That's ok. Agree to disagree.

Not unless someone subscribes to the "Grease Monkey Garage" or "Counting Cars" BS. Then that's consistent with the current Administration's "alternative facts" scheme of the more you say it, the more people believe you even if it's the furthest thing from the truth?

See. I'm better off sitting in the corner facing the wall, just talking to myself
Those are VERY COOL.

I seem to think though that those lights were covered here on this forum before?

They aren't really headlights. They are some kind of a side marker light that happen to fit in. They are only used for appearance/effect. The owner doesn't drive at night.

Are those the spinners from the Goldfinger Aston that destroys Mustang Convertibles?

No problem.
There are probably many that would like to weigh in on this subject.
My view certainly isn't going to dominate anything.
Let's see how others feel about this and weigh in.
Certainly many Pantera owners don't have traditional values of the "hobby" as others, including myself.
There are also inconsistencies that keep things from becoming completely black and white as well as common denominators.
It probably could be an interesting discussion? Smiler

This car was at the Irvine Cars & Coffee back in 1/10/09. Maybe such lights is what you are after? No measurements or info, but at least some photos. Ha ha poor PanteraDoug will need to run to the corner again on this one, as it is a bit off stock. I know what you are talking about man, but I just look in amazement at the various things done to the Panteras, some my cup o tea, some not. In this case, not for me as I don't drive at night anyway so I prefer the flip headlights, but the precision on these does look nicely done. I should probably start a flickr photo folder in my flickr account just to put all the various Pantera mods seen over the years, but I think it would blow up my account! So I just put these in my "Crazy Stuff" folder for now. For those looking for crazy stuff and some car mods too, here at least is my crazy folder link (may need to go to page 2 & 3 of the link for more modified car photos):
