Heater hose shutoff valves

Very nice: brand or source?

Just make sure the valve is rated for in excess of 200 degrees and FULL PORT.

I used a PEX Specs Heating 3/4" Brass 250°F

3/4 Plumbing size which is ID and approx 7/8 OD ... a little tough getting 5/8 hose over it ... but definitely worth isolating the heater lines in the summer.

Some are available with little side drain fittings too. A small removable brass cap that allows easy venting and/or draining a line.

Boss - sorry I did not get a brand name - bought it at my local hardware store. The photo I used is a random one I found online. I would guess these are garden-variety.

Larry ... that type would normally be used as a balancing valve ...which I;m sure is a good idea.

Brand name ... you just have to make sure of the temp rating .. because the plumbing spec doesnt usually exceed 150 degrees ... the Hydronic Heating version should be 250 degree rating more suitable for our application .

vintage air makes a nice eletric valve that bypass water back to engine runs around 90.00 very easy to install .

.... a 3 way valve? thats a good idea ?
