Maybe a silly question :

Most of the engine builders intall the lifter bar faced to the centrum from the block.

I installed the bar on the backside - facing to the cylinder heads.

Is this wrong ?

You mount a standart hydraulic lifter also without any direction , because the oil is arround the lifter in any case.

Howards tech line said , I should turn the lifters , because everybody do so, but they can not explain why .

I want to install the lifterbar backside, because there is more oil splashing arround and the valvelash is easier to see.

What do you think ?

I believe that in some cases the bars will hit the block if installed on the back side. If you have the clearance it should not make any difference which way you install them.
