My early car does not have that style switch. That being said, ideally the wires should be long enough to pull them through the openings, assemble everything on the back of the switch and then push them into place

if there is no apparent free play with the wires, take a small flashlight and a mirror and see if you can follow the harness and possibly gain some slack by opening one of the factory harness positioning straps/clips?

Well probably you would be best off if you had hands and fingers like ET?

In my case, I got the bulbs and clips mounted and was able to insert them in the dash from the front.

I did modify the harnesses though to put enough slack in them to pull them through the hole and mount the harness to the switch.



To those who will accuse me of cheating. I prefer to think of it as re-engineering.
