Okay, I've made the big decision for my intake and carb for 2806 as owner 3 in 38 years.

A 1982 full engine breakdown rebuild worksheet is all I have for the 3000K motor showing valve job and 10:1 piston replacements with a Crane 524551 Cam (adv 292 int./296 exh). I have the autolite 4300 carb with DIZE manifold that's gonna get shelved and saved.

I bought the Edelbrock Performer 4V and a zinc coated Street Avenger 670. The gasket kit, a chrome set of Ford racing covers with the 1/4" felpro's, and the cool Ford valve bolts and Racing wire guides. Also, blue RTV silicone, red RTV silicone, and intake gasket kit. Jegs kit came with a in-line fuel gauge, and a duel feed plumbing. While I'm there spark plugs are getting swapped.

What am I missing? I've searched the forum and can't find what I'm missing. I know it's something like a throttle anchor for the spring and linkage. Do I need it?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

On some Panteras, the leverage on the Holley throttle shaft does not allow full throttle; the secondaries never fully open. All the vendors have the link and bracket extension.

Good luck with any Holley Street Avenger on a performance engine. THe first thing you'll badly need is a secondary spring tuning kit and a quick-change secondary diaphragm cover- both Holley parts. Holley's dyno guy told me that's an emission-certified carb and it will take LOTS of tuning to get it to work even average... which after 3 months and changing everything but the throttle base, I couldn't. Want another one with 18 tuning miles on it from new?

Thanks for the opinions. I have heard both good and bad stories on the 670. Issues on older models had a few things, one being a lean stumble. Apparently the problem was with the primary metering block; Holley acknowledged the problem and has said to have fixed it on the new ones. Other than that I hear it is an easy carb to work on. It came with 3 secondary vacuum springs (Light, med, heavy)and a new quick change vac cover.

I'll play it by ear and may have to change the jets. As far as the bracket extension I may have to run down to the speed shop for that in the middle of the install this weekend.
