almost 12 months since I bought my car I thought I was almost ready for an english MOT certificate so we can get "on the road"

Only the new (used but OK) Meria cooling fan operation /direction, to test. nothing, check fuse yes its blown, change it and its blown again. could be one of 2 cables the large fan cable or the grey cable, its the grey one, after removal of the grey cable, fans checked and running when the switches are shorted out, and in the right direction, but the grey cable feeds, ign buzzer, handbrake switch, seat belt warning lamp, I cut the cable to the ign buzzer and I think the same cable feeds the warning lamp in the centre of the dash, which I can't reach without removing the dashboard. Before I do are there known problems with this buzzer, I think its that or a short in the bulb in the seat belt lamp (broken filament resting on the earth terminalin the bulb?) its a euro dash from 3840, again thanks to every one for their help Peter.

Thanks for the tip Larry, I tried to pull out the unit but probably because I had recovered the dash recently it was difficult, removing the tacho and speedo I was able to locate the cables and with a bit of luck it came free, so I could check the bulb and wiring. NO problem with the bulb, and also found that the black and 2 grey wires were NOT connected, and loose behind the dash, back to square one...............
