Knock off cobra / GT40 wheels

I have a set of Hall's wheels that look like knock-offs if that's what you're looking for. They need refinishing. If that is what you are wanting, I can send you some photos. Lumir.

Not on the Pantrea, but I have them on my GT40 if you are looking for quality/service input.

I would love to know what the deal is with Vintage Wheels as well. Don't they offer different size rims as well in their pin drive knock offs? I would really like to know if these are worth looking into or not? I am looking at putting these on a Cuda -- I love the look, but if they are useless, then it would be good to know before I paid the $$$$.

I'm thinking of putting these on my pantera 10x10 in the front and 15 12 or 15 14 in the rear with adapters , knock off wheel's it's about $4000.00 you can the special that is not as wide in the rear for $3300.00 anybody thoughts I have GRP.4 flares that is why I need the wider wheels. Anyone deal with vintage wheel's before , what kind of quality and service?

what tires are you planning to use on those wheels. I suggest you consider that before going any further. I can offer you what I did:

255/45-15 fronts and 345/35-15 rears on 10 x 15 and 13 x 15 respectively.

I hear guys saying they will run AVON slicks on the street. That is a dumb concept.

Bob at Vintage wheels is a great guy, easy to deal with and very accommodating. I had a custom set of 15" dia. BRM wheels made up in 10" front and 12" rear widths all painted Gulf color and they came out great, finding suitable rubber for them is another challenge though and needs to be considered in the overall cost.

The Vintage wheels are cast one piece, so need to be widened to meet the special widths, the offsets are different front and rear, so you'll probably need all 4 widened i.e. not likely the standard 15x10 rears will fit up front.

I'm not sure about going the full 14" width on a GP4 as all the offset is toward the outside. Obviously you have to retrofit the pin drive hubs too.

Personally if I was going GP4 and 15" it would be with the original style 10 spoke Campi's. That said Ron McCall had Halibrand style wheels on his narrow body Pantera for some time and I always thought they really suited the car/color..

Tires are available, cost is the factor; , Pirelli have the 345 rears at something like $700 ea. , but fronts are challenging, the stock GT5 width is a 275 on a 10" front, a 255 tire is bit skinny IMO.

Michelin TB5/TB15's are a good tire that have widths to suit front and rear, that said I'm going the dumb route and running Avon slicks; Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley will cut treads into them for you and they are a bit taller for the GT40.

255/45-15 Michelin from Coker works very well on a 10" rim.

Just don't show the police your AVONS - even with treads on them :-)

Here's a picture of Ron's car (I believe) - I think these wheels look great on narrowbody cars too....
