5715 is almost ready for paint but I'm not sure about the leading edge of front hood alignment with the body. See attached photos. Does anyone have a photo of a stock car that shows this detail? The help will be much appreciated.

5715 was originally white. I'm OK with white but my wife, who is generally better with color decisions than I am, gave white a big thumb down. The car is rust free and major dent free but had its share of road rash and first owner abuse. The car was media blasted and all that has been addressed. Now it's time to choose a color. I know a color choice is purely subjective but I'd like to hear other opinions about color. I only get one shot at this. What do you think?

BTW, The wheels will likely be painted charcoal like in the photo.

Original Post

Some of my favorite colors on a Pantera are Yellow of course, the only color God and Alessandro intended for a Pantera

White can be quite nice...

Silver...

Orange...

Either of these Ferrari blues would look nice on a Pantera...

Black...

I'm about to redo my PB in original Giallo Fly with a full strip down and disassembly, original paint is tired and lightly spider cracked.  If done right,  in my opinion there is little to match it, though I admit to being very partial to silver as I was lucky to grow up with a 72 GTS that my father ordered and picked up original at the factory without black hoods.

Glasurit has a phenomenal vintage colors choice if you want to use original paint schemes.

PPG would be the other.

House of colors  makes choice near impossible for sure as just about all palettes are super inviting!

Cheers and best of luck, it's a gorgeous car.

Thanks everyone!

So far from what I can see it appears that the lower corners of the leading edge of the front hood are rounded to match the body radius. Also seems that the gap is typically not the best. Am I correct?

And thanks for the color suggestions. P-cars look great in many colors. I'm leaning towards either Porsche Agate Grey Metallic or Ford Ruby Red (tinted a little darker). I know that those two colors couldn't be further apart. I prefer to keep the car as understated as possible for a P-car but am also concerned about being seen for safety reasons.

Both colors look nice, but I think the Pantera deserve's the red.  I think the Agate Grey with charcoal wheels will look too pedestrian, just like all the charcoal grey Porsches, Hondas and Toyotas on the road with dark or blacked out wheels.  They're too common and too understated in my opinion!

BUT, you're the only one who has to like it.

Wow!  That's a gorgeous red car there Larry!  What is it?  Oh wait, is your car in that picture too?  I almost didn't see it...

Hahaha!   I thought of you when I typed the message above and wondered if it would rouse your ire.  Seriously though, your car doesn't fall into that pedestrian category.  Your color is more silver than grey and is stunning compared to the referenced Porsche above. And, your wheels are bright not dark.  They stand out nicely against the silver/charcoal/anthracite finish and complement the color nicely.

Larry, What color is your car? Very nice! Do you have any more photos of your car that you don't mind sharing either here or privately?

Maybe I will be allowed to joint the Secret Silver Group on this forum that Jeff mentioned if I go with a dark silver/grey metallic.  LOL
