I have listed my 72 wide body on E-bay. In only a couple of days I have received several (4 in 2 days)letters from scammers trying to pay for the car through paypal. Here is one of the letters

Good to hear from you, am buying it for my sister`s birthday Presently i am out of town i work as a scientist. I just want to make it a surprise gift for her. She will be happy with it i know that for sure. I want you to know that i will be making my Payment through Pay-pal because right now i don't have access to my bank Account online because i don't operate internet banking, but i can pay from my PayPal account, as i have my bank a/c attached to it, if you have a Pay-pal account i can make the Payment through to your PayPal Email Account. If you don't have PayPal account you could set one up for me so the Payment can be made , it is very easy to set one up go to www.PayPal.com and get it set up , after you have done that i will want you to get back to me with the e-mail address you use for registration with PayPal so as to put the money through.. My Pick Agent will be coming for the Pick up After the Payment has been made through. I will like to hear from you Thanks.

Now, I would never in a million years fall for this kind of crap.
These letters all have one thing in common, they say that for some reason they can not do internet banking (yet they can do internet paypal) They are mostly overseas or traveling, they will have a agent pick up the car.
What I do not understand is, how do they use paypal to pull off this scam?
Any insight?
