Well that would all depend. I have seen some ZF's in great shape and ones rusted so bad you can't fix them. The problem is the oil level is only about 1 1/2 inches off the bottom and the input shaft with all the expensive parts are uncovered,The breather is were the moisture gets in to do all the damage, that why is a good idea to fire up a car thats in storage often to oil coat all the parts.I your case I would pull the fill plug on the side and look in with a light to inspect it.Lloyd
