The steering wheel is not original - It even has a Ford logo on it!! Mind you the early ones had a different Fomoco wheel, but branded with the De Tomaso logo.
Have to say that the rear wheels on this Longchamp make me think of a drag racer..
The car is located up the street from my house. I didn't know it was there. I'll try to have a look this week. These don't go for much, do they? Wasn't one for sale for $20,000 or so from PI this year? Vince

I emailed the seller with serious interest in this car. He wasn't particularly interested in facts or providing details about the car, just that it was worth $50K.
He was touting it as the rarest model of DeTomaso car (in fact, other than the Pantera, it's the LEAST rare). When I asked why it was "worth" so much more than others that had recently sold in the $20—$40K range, he told me that I should go buy another one. That the photos showed several missing trim bits was just me being picky.
I will be very interested to see what happens at the auction. I predict a no-sale as the reserve will likely not be met. I would love to hear your assesment of the car if you get a chance to see it Vince.
