There was only one bid at 75k, but the reserve was not yet met, so it didn't sell.

Either DeTomaso stopped undercoating the engine compartment some time between 6339 (mine) and 6699 (this one), or there has been more done to this car than advertised.

That's an observant call, and I'm sure somebody on here knows what hour this changed. My '74 (#7059, a one-owner unpainted, original car) has the same finish as #6699.

However, I concur that more has been done to this car - though just slightly - than the time-capsule description suggests.

Yes, I understood sometime during '74 L models DT started painting the engine bay matt black.

Chuck Melton may be the guy to narrow the answer down to within a few serial #'s from his registry.

Man, good find. That's an old time collection, long-term Ferrari collector. For grins, note the Daytona spyder in the last photo. Oh my.

His asking price on the Pantera is scarcely the luxury tax on some of his other stuff. Though not a popular opinion, I hope he gets every dime for the car.

As an aside, what's with the ghoulish green on the half shafts? Is that correct?
