A word of caution on your carpet install.

You should check for full fit and coverage ...before... gluing anything.

I blindly started at the front, gluing tight to the firewall and proceeding rearward. Got to the rear bulkhead and was about 1 1/2" short.

ARRRRGH! Mad

Stretch while installing, perhaps use a few sheet metal screws to anchor without glue and then stretch to confirm good fit.

I had the same fear when I first saw one of thos plates. But I did the calcs for that size bolt, that depth in aluminum and the pull out force was high enough for even me to use one.

my short term memory is gone, so this is just my gut, but I think using one bolt out of the 4 was just suffcient so using the 4 bolts gave me the 5:1 safety margin used for rigging, I would and recomend the bolts be torqued to the correct spec for being used in what ever metal the intake is
