A 1969 4-headlight goose, with only 124 original miles was on eBay. This car received bids up to $31K, with a buy it now of
$47,900, and didn't meet the seller's reserve.

It is "unrestored".

What do YOU think it is worth ?

You may call the seller, Roy Clarke (210) 861-4545.

Having sold a number of Mangustas in the past and dozens of Panteras, I personally believe that what a car may or may not do on eBay is not indicative nor controlling on market value for at least, DeTomaso cars. I have seen cars that customers have bought on eBay that were overvalued and I have also seen and bought cars that were undervalued. A big factor alone is where the vehicle is located in the first place.
In placing a value on Mangustas, it is important to understand that there are far less buyers than of Panteras. Second, the buyers I speak with are concerned if not outright timid on parts availability. Third, a Mangusta is not as user friendly as a Pantera, where some of our customers drive their cars daily. This is not to say that a Mangusta cannot be updated to improve the seating comfort, A/C, performance and handling. As to the market, there have been two recent sales of 'Geese. Both cars needed restoration in terms of paint, body and interior. Both cars were drivable and complete or nearly complete. The prices were $30K for one (involved a trade and sale) and $33K for the other. We have sold a very clean and original car for $44.5 and a feature car Mangusta we did a story on about a year ago, had sold for around $60K plus. The car you refer to should be worth at least $35-45K and then add a premium for the mileage and deduct for any conditions that may require a reduction. Thanks for your question, Dave Adler
