I didn't know until recently that official "Marti Reports" were available for Panteras.

Kevin Marti is well known for being THE Ford Authorized guru for all things historic Mustang. It turns out that he also possesses info for YOUR Pantera.

The information is not earth shattering but fun, nonetheless.

Mike, Give 'em a call back. I don't know how long ago 'a while back is' because they also have Canadian records. I spoke to them last summer and they were iffy, yet as seen in the previous post they now manage to produce a 'cute' report. It is simple compared to Mustangs but still brings some interesting info to add to your cars's history and will shut-up any Ford 'guy' who still thinks it's one of 'those kits' because Marti is the benchmark in Ford & Mustang source & scarity documentation

Any idea why your Pantera Unit Number does not match your VIN? All the others appear to match.

Hmmm. That is curious. Good question, William. I have no idea, but that's what I got in the report as you can see. At first I thought it might be that the other 127 Panteras were built for other-than-U.S. sales, but 5606 has the same VIN and matching unit number. Must be what the records show for whatever reason. I'll have to ask Marti to see if they know.

UPDATE: Just received this e-mail from Marti Auto:

Ron,
Unfortunately, that is a typing error we made. Please send the report back and we will be generating a corrected one to get to you. I'm sorry about the inconvenience.

Thank you,
Kevin Marti

Got a call from the "Marti Report" people today. They say there is NO info for my #3482. They say they have US and Canada info, and that my # was probably delivered to another country. I know my car was in CA. for a long time, but I dont have all its history. Were any cars sold new in Mexico ? Thoughts anyone ?

Mike
The mystery is solved ! When I got my car there was one letter wrong on the title. There was a G where there should have been a C, representing May production. Looks like that mix up happened from the very beginning. Kevin Marti says that with the G in my vin #3482 makes a good number. Just ordered my report.

MARTI's report came today. Good stuff! I was told about 20 PANTERA orders have been received, they are considering more tags for us. Question the 2nd line on the Vehicle order image contains: VIN, COLOR, PORT OF ENTRY info. and 4 more number sets does any one find the last 4 number set to correlate to any other car info, like motor number or body service number? JD
I got my Marti report a week ago and the original color on the report is incorrect. I'm still waiting for a reply/correction. Also, I think that my port of entry is incorrect, but I have no way of knowing for sure.

I've noticed that on some of the reports that were posted on this board, the car was serialized before it was released, and on others it was released before it was serialized. Can anyone shed some light on this? Mine was released, then serialized.

This link shows Ron's car serialized, then released.

Got my Marti Report this weekend. The glitch was his info has a G for April and my car has a C for May production. Guess the car was stamped wrong from new. The title had a G and did not match the vin, so I had it corrected.

Sold new at Van Nuys Motors Inc.
5201 Van Nuys Blvd.
Van Nuys CA. 91401

Anyone know what is at that address now ?

Thanks, Mike
