There are currently no existing exterior mirror mounting holes on my 72's doors and I have a set of baby turbos I would like to install. I'm looking for recommendations for best location. In other owner's pictures I've noticed them as far forward as the wing window apex or all the way back past the main window crossmember, as well everywhere in between. There must be a place that provides maximum visibility for the driver while both mirrors remain symmetrical to each other.

My recommendation, fabricate a triangular steel plate to bolt the mirrors to and sandwich it between the quarter window rubber. This way the Bay Turbo mirrors are straight out and don't have that awful 90 degree bend. Mine are not even glued on simnply pushed down under the quarter window rubbers, no drilling no gluing and if you ever want a change its easy.
