A long time since, I read an article regarding moving the Relay box to the R/Hand front footwell where it can be reached more easily.

I cannot seem to find it anywhere I would like to emulate the fitting of the relay box in 3840, can anyone remember where it can be found please.

Job for today, having new hinge pins fitted to the 4 door hinges.

Tomorrow start to fit 2 new fuse boxes, modern ones that cost $10 each.

I must say the one shown on the film is the dogs etc etc but its a bit expensive.

There is little stock about my car. I went completely outside the box and wired things from scratch. I set the main fuse box and relays in the front trunk. I have another fuse/relay panel on the rear firewall near items related. This leaves a lot more room under the dash. I did add a relay setup for the windows under the dash (which I don't have a photo) but without the main electrical harness there was plenty of room.

The dissadvantage to the front trunk harness is it does not look as good as it could. I may make a cover at some point. The advantage is I have easy access to all the wiring and am able to change things around at will.

Here is the relay and fuse panel on rear firewall:

The dash itself is easily removable with 2 bolts, 2 screws, and 3 plugs. One of the plugs is simply power for the gauges and switches:

I know this is probably outside the box of what you are thinking but it may give you a more open mind as to what you can do.

See this thread, and don't forget to view Page 2, also.

BTW - I found my old posting by clicking the "FIND" link, selecting "ADVANCED SEARCH" and entering ...footwell relays... for an "all these words" search.

Thanks very much for the help Larry, I think thats the way I will do it, the pic on page 2 makes it seem a very neat modification, Comp your mod is too advanced for me and I like keeping the car near standard if possible.
JFB I will take some pics too, thanks to all grand result from this forum again.
