I'm pretty close on completing the restoration on my deauville but there are some major issues with the high and low beams on it.
I'll just fire a number of questions and I appreciate any help you guys can offer me, since it isn't a pantera and it, obviously, doesn't have the same wiring as one.
A short explanation on the deauville is that it has separate hig and low beam lights and each has its own relay. My deauville has the later ford/lincoln column with the highbeam switch being a button on the end of the indicatorstalk.

First question
On the wiring diagram there are numbers on the relays i.e. 85-86-87-30/51. Most of the relays are bosch with different numbers like 56-a-b 15 and 31b. How does this match up?

second question
Since someone in the past did a "great job" on pulling some new wires all in the same colour, I am considering on making a new loom just for the high and low beams. I have a fair grasp of car electrics and really want to get rid of the "crap" under the dash.

Third question
What's with all the double earth wires on all the lighting connections up front? Even the thermoswitches on the radiator have them.

For most I am working with a wiring diagram from a series 1 deauville, but since I have a series 2 and that isn't the same it is all too much of a guessing game.
Somehow the never bothered to draw one up for the series 2.

Just so you all know I had a friend, who is a retired chief mechanic, have a look at it and even he couldn't make heads or tales out of it!

Have fun and hope you guys can make me see the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak!

Chiel
