I would like to know about your A/C installations kit, from where you got it, if you are happy with it, etc...as I need to replace my system, and wanted a bit of feedback.
I am not aware of any a/c "installation kits" for the car. When I fixed my a/c it was piece by piece. Eventaully I ended up repalcing the compresson with a rotary compressor( to install a bulkhead reduction kit), a new pressure line, a pressure swithc and a recharge. I also had to repalce the glass tube fuse with an in line blade fuse becauase the new compressor was drawing enough amps to melt the sodder in the tube fuse ends (but not blow the fuse).
I think Hall Pantera still makes their kit to relocate the A/C condenser to in front of the radiator. If I remember correctly, you could get the relocate kit for just the condenser, or buy the whole complete A/C system.
Just contact the vendors and let them know what a/c set-up you have now and what you want. While they may not have a kit, they can sell you the individual pieces. Then pick the one you feel best meets your needs.
I just talked to Larry(shoot me if I have his name wrong) at PI and he told me to totally stay away from the front mount condensor. He stated that he has seen more problems with overheating when the condensor is located that close to the radiator. he also informed me that he would help me out anyway I needed to ensure I have the best system for my car. Just give em a shout he was great to deal with. Jeff
Reminds me when I called Hall about a radiator to replace the original. He told me I would be making a big mistake buying one of the aluminum ones and that I would be back to him in a year or two to buy his brass unit. Four years later and not a problem with my Fluidyne rad. Tom
Fernando - You need to decide exactly what you need - just hoses? Just compressor? Just condensor? All? I don't think anyone has a special for buying everything at the same time. I think you need to make a list of what you need and then check prices from the vendors.
The hoses I would buy locally. I bought mine in the US but the fittings didn't match what I needed. I lost a lot of time and money shipping hoses back and forth. But the Pantera-specific parts I'd buy from a vendor.
