I am moving the location of my coolant bottles to provide clearance for another modification.

The positioning I now have places a silicone coupling hose about 2 1/2" from one of the header pipes. All my coolant piping is stainless, which will not serve as a heat sink (that would be bad) for any header heat coming its way. The header pipes are coated and thus have lower heat radiating properties than bare steel.

The silicone is advertised as good up to 420 degrees F. The silicone is somewhat off to the side and above the pipes.

I have had a rubber coated Adell clamp in use sitting 3" below the header pipes for some time, without any signs of heat damage.

I think the new silicone coupling hose will survive the heat in its location.

Please study the following photos and give me your thoughts, okay?

Thanks,

Larry

This photo (taken from underneath) has the header pipe on the left, the SS coolant pipe and the black silicone hose on the right.

Larry,

I don't think it will be a problem, but at Summit you can get the heat sleeving of the type that is used on ignition leads in pipe diameter sizes. I'd use that to cover up that gob of black piping your using Wink

BTW you didn't say what 'other' modification this is making room for?
