Hi Carl
Welcome aboard.
The first step in buying a Pantera is deciding what "type" of Pantera you want. This should narrow your search down into one of five types, and it helps us evaluate the car based on your needs. Those five types are:
(1) A show room original, concourse show car/automotive investment
(2) A discretely emended car you can enjoy driving occasionally or frequently, near or far
(3) A 1971 - 1974 North American Pantera that has been faithfully upgraded to the specification of a later model car (European GTS, GT5 or GT5-S). These replica-cars are prized in some states because they are easier to register than the "real thing" due to smog (EPA) or safety equipment (DOT) regulations.
(4) A highly personalized/modified car
(5) A dilapidated car you intend to restore using mostly your own labor (a project car)
The car in your link would be the fourth type. That type of car is the hardest type to nail down in terms of market value.
