I studied the attached oil pressure gage diagram and would like a clarification if you understand it. The way I understand it, it shows a pink wire coming from the fuse box, this must be power, and a pink and black wire heading to the sending unit. My sending unit has always had a black wire coming off the top. So I assume that this black wire is the same as the pink and black wire.

Does that make sense? I don't want to fry the gage if it's not already bad

sometimes a thread sealer or tape can keep the sending unit from grounding, so I tested it by adding a temporary ground wire. Still got nothing. I pulled the gage and will test it close to the sending unit. If that doesn't work give me a signal, I'll get another sending unit before going for a new or rebuilt gage. Have any of you tested a gage by some other means?
