I believe your right that this particular car has not been discussed here, however the seller Beverly Hills Car Club has in various threads. Short story is do not buy without a thorough inspection either by yourself or someone that is trusted and knowledgeable.

Are those home-made dropped floor pans?

Obviously the car is set up as a race car.

If that is what you are looking for - it looks to be in pretty good shape.

Certainly if someone is serious - it would need a detailed inspection.

Notice the highly modified rear deck lid

under side, notice the "dropped" floor pans, notice the braided hose which is routed beneath the frame rail instead of going through the frame rail, easily damaged by road debris, high siding, etc.

interior 1, notice the roll cage you'll have to crawl over to get into the stock seats ... not racing seats

interior 2, notice dash board & console are missing, no speedometer

Appreciate the feedback, interested to know if you think it's still possible to get a decent 'driver' car for under $40k? Cosmetic problems don't bother me as I enjoy this aspect of restoration.
Wanted a GT5 since they first came out but unfortunately these are way beyond my budget now.

That is some substantial reinforcement in back, is this known as a highly flexing area?

I'm sure that what you are seeing on the top is the vent. The feed line is most likely on the bottom. That would make sense anyway.

I think the braided hose that runs under the chassis structure is the fuel line - it goes up at the right point to intersect with a fuel pump.

It would be a bad idea to pinch that one...

It also looks like he has an ignition coil bracket on the triangular frame gusset on the passenger side.

A lot of work and parts required to get this one back to any semblance of stock, so some investment required on top of the purchase outlay. Does it come with a title or purely a race car?

I do believe you can still get a reasonable driver for $40k, but it is getting harder, more likely a word of mouth deal.

After reading thru some amazing reconstruction threads, I can imagine what surprizes might be waiting where you can't look.
