Anybody out there have a set of the new PI stainless mufflers installed on their car? I'm contemplating ANSA surgery (my baffles are loose and I'm considering cutting them out and re-habbing the mufflers). If you HAVE installed the PI mufflers, how do they sound? Also what kind of $$$ are we talking about for a reputable muffler shop to fabricate new pipes from the header collector to the new mufflers? Thanks

Swen, I have the P.I. SS Mufflers on my Panther. They are Beautiful works of art!(be sure to tell the worker to 'Face' the one seam, down the side, 'Inwards', so as not to be seen). They sound 'Deep Throated', but are a little on the 'Quiet Side' for the tastes of most Pantera enthusiasts. After all, they are Brand-New. After aproximately 2000-3000 Miles; They 'Seem' to be getting a 'little' louder. The total cost of a pair of custom bent Head-pipes(All One-Piece), welding, and mounting; and they had to weld on 'Mounting Tabs' to the mufflers' tube; was $200. I always like to quote George Peppard, from one scene of the past TV show 'The A Team': "When You pay Peanuts...You end up Hireing a Bunch of Monkeys". Good-Luck with it!
I am undergoing a similar task with the 5.4 Pantera. I have a stock sized exhaust on there now but the pipes are a pathetic 1 7/8" so I bout some stainless angled tubes and stainless collectors from JC Whitney and a pair of stainless straight through mufflers from ebay. The angles are all there it just all has to be welded together and the mounting tabs put on and I will have a fre-breathin 2 1/2" all stainless exhaust. I can't wait!
