I have one that is black original. It was an actual Italian car so it has the eurpeon gauges.

I didn't think the factory ever built a black Pantera. Was your car built after the DeTomaso/Ford breakup?

What I had heard was that black was offered, just not here in the US. Now I know mine was repainted at some time but it also appears that it was also originaly black because you can see what must have been original paint in out of the way places that are usualy a tip off to original color. I was told that the original owner of my car was an Italian guy who didn't like it after owning it for a year. It was brought in to this country by a fellow named Yodder in New York. He owned the car for 23 years or so.
it's flattering that someone with such a great knowledge of panteras has replied to my ad. However, the advert was not designed to be 'weird', but to plainly seek a black wide bodied pantera. Thanks for your contribution!

There's something weird in the request - "early wide-body" car. The early cars (Ford era) were all narrow body, so I assume he meant early car that had been converted to late specs?

Late model cars were available from the factory in black.
