there is no way you can guarantee a rust free car ..especially in the portland area, where it rains and has high humidity. also there are bondos on the market today that never seep or cancer. the first place rust appears is in the wells behind the doors and next in the door jambs and bottom tray of engine trans compartment.and all of these areas can be cured for very little money and a little ingenuity..
engine tray strapping by a good welder is recommended even if yours is rust free anyway.
i have had seven panteras over the years and i qualify myself as an expert...dont be concerned about a slightly rusty bucket. even floor pans can be fixed very inexpensively...which by the way rusts generally last before any major rust appears on top of the car.southwestern desert areas are best for picking up relatively rust free cars, but after 30 years here on the planet almost all panteras have some rust...quit being a woos and get your pantera yourself or switch to vettes that never rust.
