radiator cover options

here is the cover

This is the cover i was planing on buying. Not sure it will work with my fiberglass hood. My car is missing the original radiator cover is this cover meant replace it or work in conjunction with it?

It replaced it on mine, is your hood flat or do you have vents?

You need the "V" in the middle of the cover otherwise the hood spider reinforcement will bottom out on the cover and the hood won't close.

FWIW, the top rad cover is only there to force ALL the air coming in the grille through the radiator core. Any scoops, louvers or holes in the cover only vents incoming higher pressure air around the core and lowers rad efficiency. A plain flat plate, held down tight, works best for the purpose. Perforated hoods can exhaust some hot air after its gone through the core; the amount dumped upward is proportional to the size of the hood holes relative to the core size of 25.25" x 14.25"= 360 sq. inches. Most holes- including the factory hibachi-grilles, are way too small to do much. A GT 40-type hot-air dump works great but IMHO is aesthetically ugly and collects debris.

Mine is a bit radical. I closed off all air going under the car. In doing so I fought not to allow it to look like a GT-40 hood when I made the hood.
