I lived about 5 minutes away from RBT and stop by there once in a while. Lloyd is a straight up guy aways willing to help. My mechanic friend that is fixing my ZF had some questions about the trans and Lloyd was more than happy to help even though we didnt buy anything from him. Lloyd even help put the transmission together for us since he had some of the special tools. last time i was there about 2 weeks ago, Lloyd had 3 transmission on his work station waiting for the case to come back from the polisher. I talked to Lloyd for a few minutes and he mention summer is usually his slow months so now might be a good time to send them to him.
Dean,

Hey thanks for the info .. yes I said Lloyds name wrong .... so what the best way to communicate with him. I need the trans for 6476 beefed up a bit to accept the motor .. do I just crate it and send it with a note .. or call him ..email him ..fax him ???

Will I'm considering that option also. But Lloyd has the rights to all the ZF parts.

And Dennis can easily get whatever parts he doesn't already have in stock.

His backlog may or may not be less than Lloyd's. He IS closer to New York, and his reputation (in my book) is just as good as Lloyd's.

My 2¢

hey ron, i talked to lloyd today and he said to fax him with what you want to do with the trans and your name and phone number. he will call you back. the problem with his answering machine is that people called him with their life story about their cars and used up the whole answering machine by middle of the day. let me know if you need more assistance.
Lloyd is totally swamped....and then swamped some more.

Between the Pantera and GT-40 crowds, there isn't enough time in the day.

Dennis is almost in the same boat.

Both are great guys, do great work and by far the best at it. I've rebuilt 3 of them so far and it's no easy task.

Take care of them ZF's and drive them nice !
There getting harder and harder to get and more and more expensive all the time...
I understood the casings etc. were all being cast in Texas, however Lloyd is still responsible for the final assembly. Going by the comments on the GT40's forum, it's a 9-12 month wait for a new box, hence the scarcity of used ZF transaxles at the moment.
