I need to rebuild/change my passenger side axle shaft and install new bearings. I did the driver’s side many years ago. Jack DeRyke repaired the axle shaft.

The SKF bearing part #’s that I have on file are:

- outer: 6308-2RS1 (40X90x23mm)

- inner: 6208-2RS1 (40X80X18mm)

Seals: Chicago Rawhide

- inner: 24659

- outer: 27740

Are these part #’s correct?

Any additional info or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Blake.

Blake,

I recently been through this. Those are the correct SKF #'s for the stock rear bearing replacements. It's been highly suggested though to replace the inner bearing with a wider, double row bearing. If you do this, you will also need to replace the spacer with the correct shorter one. I just bought the shorter spacers from Panteras by Wilkinson. The new SKF # for the wider inner bearing is 3208-2rs1 (40x80x30.2). Good luck.
