Still looking for OEM or NOS in the original box rear brake pads for a 74 P car. Chuck

Why?

They aren't worth the material they are made of for braking purposes.

The ONLY reason to use them is for a ridiculously 100% correct restoration, and I don't know what competition event involves looking at the pads to check for OEM.

Just curious,

Larry
They aren't worth the material they are made of for braking purposes. You're right about that Larry. I have two sets of OEM front brake pads and now i am looking for OEM rear pads. I am just collecting OEM Pantera stuff. Down the line some Pantera enthusiast might want a full set, and i will be there to help. Chuck

Which pads are you guys using on your cars??...

This a one of the few no-brainers in Pantera Land.

Porterfield R4S compound has been found to be THE choice for stock or upgraded brakes.

They are well versed with stock Pantera pads, and IF YOU ASK, will even add the required metal pieces needed on the rear pads for the emergency brake to properly work.

NO ONE has ever regretted using the R4S compound. For full track-only use, they are a bit soft and will wear down too quickly, but for all around driving/minor track events they are perfect.
