Jack, I'm doing a resto on my 74L. Being that
motor and trans will be taken out of car can
you list as many items as you want that you
feel are needed to take care of to bring it up to todays standards, mechanical as well as body? If possible in descending priority.I also welcome comments from other members. I enjoy reading your articles and thank you for your time.

Once the engine is out, I'd suggest you have the rear crossmember and e-brake bracket made removable so the oil pan can be removed with the engine left in. Then I'd pull the gas tank, have it epoxy painted outside, remove the sender and remove the nylon filter bag from the end of the out-pipe, de-rust the frame area behind it and the matching one on the right side. Change the clutch slave to a long-throw type to prolong the trans synchros, and safety wire the ring gear bolts. When you rebuild the engine, add a 10-qt oil pan & high volume pump. All the rest can be done with the powertrain back in, when your billfold recovers.....
